At the heart of this challenge are reading groups. Reading the Bible is powerful – adding in readings groups makes this truly transformative. You are strongly encouraged to make a commitment to a group for the summer. Remember – this is just for 90 days (12 weeks).
Why reading groups?
- Reading groups keep us on track. As we settle in to read each week, knowing that we will be meeting with others encourages us to complete our readings.
- It’s all about relationships. Reading the Bible helps us to grow in relationship with God – reading the Bible together helps us to grow in relationship to others in our community.
- It helps us to learn. Each week, we are able to bring our questions to the group and talk about them together.
- It is how the Bible is meant to be read. The Bible was never meant to be read all alone by ourselves – it the Book that belongs to the community and is read in community.
When are the Reading Groups Meeting?
Currently we have 3 reading groups scheduled for the summer.
- Sunday, after worship. This group will be meeting at the church building.
- Mondays at 7:00 pm. The Monday evening group will be meeting in homes.
- Thursdays at 9:00 pm. This digital gathering will allow us to stay at home and still have great conversations.
Can I Still Sign Up for a Group?
Maybe you weren’t sure what your summer would look like, or if you were up for the B90 challenge. But now, you are ready.
Yes! You can still be a part of a reading group. Send an email to Pastor David, and he will help you find a group to be a part of.
Are There Resources to Help Me Read the Whole Bible?
Yes! Check out our main page for the B90 Cover to Cover Reading Challenge to find the reading schedule, and more resources as we start reading together.
