It has been two years, and after time for social distancing and a massive renovation, we are back in our church building.
It is such a joy to gather with everyone again!
As we come home to in-person worship and gatherings, we need some help. This all works if we all pitch in and do our part to make our ministry the best it can be.
And that means you. We need your help on Sunday mornings and beyond.
How can you help with worship?
Each Sunday, we rely on volunteers for each of the tasks below.
- Hospitality. Hospitality is a HUGE part of our Sunday morning gatherings. As people come to worship, our job is to make them feel welcomed whether this is their first Sunday with us or their 500th.
- Greeting. Open to all ages. Greeting people as they arrive at the church building and welcoming them to the space. Requires being at the building at least 15 minutes before worship begins.
- Donuts and Refreshments. Bringing Sunday morning snacks and treats for the coffee bar.
- Cleaning up the Coffee Bar. Cleaning up and putting away the coffee carafes after worship and making sure the coffee bar and kitchen are wiped down.
- Chair Set-up. Setting up the Worship Space chairs before worship, so that we are able to gather comfortably. Usually happens on Saturday.
- Worship Leadership. Our Worship Leadership help us to have a joyful and meaningful worship experience.
- Reading Scripture. It is helpful to hear more voices reading Scripture than just Pastor’s. Every week, readings will be sent out by Wednesday – generally one or two short sections (about a paragraph) of Scripture.
- Leading Song. We are always looking for people to help us lead songs and praise on Sundays. Do you play an instrument? We would love to have you be a part of our band. Are you a singer who loves this music? There are open microphones just waiting for you on stage. The Worship Team warms up every Sunday about an hour before worship begins.
- Communion Set-up. Filling the individual cups and setting out the wafers for Holy Communion. Takes about ten minutes each week, and requires you to be here about 20 minutes before worship.
- Worship Tech
- Running the live stream. Up in the crows nest, there is a joystick that moves our cameras and a control box for switching between the cameras and the projection. Good live stream production helps us to share worship beyond the walls of our building. Must by 14 or older, and able to climb the stairs to the crows nest.
- Running the projection slides. The slides not only give lyrics and worship cues for people at in-person worship, they are also used online. Uses a remote control from the worship space (You can sit in your usual spot while you do this).
- Online greeter / host. Engaging in the comments on our Facebook live stream, starting conversation and helping people to engage
