Children of Joy! Preschool takes pride in having the best teachers available. Many of our staff members have been here for several years, having experienced our program first hand with their own children. In addition to their high school or college education, Texas Department of Childcare Licensing requires each staff member to receive 24 hours of continuing education each year. Our teachers accomplish this task by taking workshops and attending conferences on a variety of topics throughout the school year. This material helps them to stay up-to-date on the most current child development information available.
To ensure our program continues to grow and improve, we offer a CDA (Child Development Associate) program on an annual basis to all of our teachers who may be interested. This 6 month program gives them to opportunity to study how children develop and how to use this information to better their classrooms and their teaching experiences. At the conclusion of this program, the teachers will receive their Child Development Associate Credential. The CDA program is funded by the Preschool and requires each participant to sign a two year contract, ensuring our program will benefit from their professional growth.
Finally, as safety is a primary concern, each staff member is required to have CPR/ First Aid training and a complete background check every two years.

Patrick attends Wheaton College in Massachusetts and plays on the basketball team. Katie plays volleyball and runs track and Maggie plays basketball and runs track too!
